各船船長在考慮當前環境下，應確保船舶的航行安全。船長並應確保負責航行當值
之船副在其當值期間應始終在駕駛台或與之相連接的場所如海圖室。此外，當船舶
錨泊或繫泊時，為考量安全，應保持適當與有效的當值。如船舶裝運危險貨品，則
此當值安排應充分考量危險貨品之特性、數量、包裝與積載。

In the watch relief procedure, the deck officer coming on watch shall check the compasses
and course recorder as follows:
z Check master gyro against the steering repeater.
z Check the steering repeater against the course recorder, radar and radio direction finder.
z Check the steering repeater against the magnetic standard compass.
z Check whether all the compass courses steered shown on the wheelhouse blackboard /
indicator board are in accordance with the track plotted on the chart.
z Check whether the course recorder clock is correct and on Universal Time Coordinated
(UTC) and note any adjustment made on the recorder roll and in the logbook.
