If you like to take a special trip, maybe you should try the
Ice Hotel, but you can only check in from December to April.
The hotel is totally made of ice and snow. When the weather
gets warm, the hotel melts, and the bosses of the hotel build the
hotel again every December.
The Ice Hotel started out of an idea of Japanese artists. In
1989, Japanese artists visited Sweden and held a show of ice art.
It caught many people’s eye. The next year, a French artist held
a show in an igloo there. Some of the visitors spent the night in
the igloo because there were no available rooms for visitors in
the town. From then now, they came up with an idea of building
an ice hotel.
Nowadays, there are over eighty rooms in the Ice Hotel. It
has art museums, a movie theater and a church. People can get
married in the church there. In addition, everything in the hotel
is also made of ice and sonw, including the tables, chairs,
glasses and beds. There are some animal skins and sleeping bags
on the top of the ice beds. Without them, you can’t have a sound
sleep because the temperature inside the hotel is always between
-5°C and -8°C .
The Ice Hotel is getting more and more popular. More than
60000 people get interested and stay there every year. If you
love to try something different, don’t miss it.

One morning, a farmer walked into the large field, his
eyes got wide open. A section of the field is crushed flat in a
perfect circle. For the farmer, there was only one possible
answer: aliens had landed here!
The circles in the field are known as “ crop circles.” As a
matter of fact, crop circles have shown up in fields for a long
time. However, it was in the 1970s that people started to notice
them and scientists began to study them.
After their first appearance, crop circle designs became
more and more complicated. Some were shapes such as stars or
triangles; others were pictures and sometimes looked three-
dimensional. In 1996, a set of crop circles “ the Stonehenge
Julia Set” was found. It measured 900 by 500 feet, and had 151
circles of different sizes.
Many people believed crop circles were the places where
alien spaceships landed. However, in 1991, two men said that
they made most of the crop circles in England for the past
twenty years. First, they chose the center of the circle. Then,
they marked the outside of the circle. Finally, they flatted the
crops with a board and a roller. Besides, some people also
believed that crop circles were created by aliens, and others
claimed they were made by small tornadoes. But no matter how
