Companies seeking profit, sometimes joined by states in quest of
security and power, drive forward the technology of artificial intelligence.
Autonomous vehicles, image recognition, advisory algorithms, financial
technology, and autonomous weapons systems are all evidence of this drive.
However, scientists and wealthy individuals have cautioned against the risks
involved in developing artificial intelligence and public institutions have
echoed the call. Consequently, a number of initiatives have been launched,
aiming to explore the ethical and societal implications of artificial
intelligence. Researchers and groups of citizens are poring over a diverse set
of issues, e.g., the ethical considerations to be taken into account by arms
procurement agencies, the implications of artificial intelligence personhood,
etc.

數十名印尼、菲律賓等外籍移工於星期日聚集於臺北火車站前，要
求他們可以參與與勞工權益相關的公投簽署活動，他們宣稱勞工的權利
就是人權，所以外籍移工和本地勞工應享有相同的權益。這些抗議者要
求政府承認他們簽署公投案的合法性，該公投要求廢除勞動基準法部分
新修定的內容，因為這些內容讓加班時數上限有更大的彈性，導致勞工
有可能會連續工作 12 天才能休息 2天。

According to recent news reports, there is a lot of promise and
opportunity associated with self-driving cars, but there are also a lot of
questions and concerns. The technology is still being developed and tested,
so workarounds for some of the above-mentioned problems might be created
as yet, but the system is not perfect at present. Write an essay in at least 250
words with two paragraphs. In the first paragraph please describe, based on
your knowledge, what self-driving cars may be like and whether we should
continue developing self-driving cars. In the second paragraph, please
describe both the pr os and the cons of your stance.
