二、Translate the following paragraphs into Chinese：（35 分）
Perhaps that is why Pakistan's government is fumbling to respond. Ordinarily
loquacious spokesmen have gone mute. The usual promotion of elaborate conspiracy
theories will no doubt resume soon, but the best that Asif Zardari, the president, could
manage was a bluff and unconvincing denial that Pakistan is home to fanatics and
terrorists in an op-ed for the Washington Post.
What happens next? In 2001 America invaded Afghanistan, kicking off its ten-year
misadventure in that country, because the Taliban harboured Mr. bin Laden at the time. It
looks to some, now, as if Pakistan was next in line to play host to al-Qaeda’s leader.
Colder relations with the Americans must surely be expected, while Pakistan fumbles for
some sort of explanation.
Small bits of black metal wreckage strew a wheat field beside number 25, evidence
of the American helicopter that crashed during the raid in which Mr. bin Laden was killed.
These are being hastily gathered by schoolboys and equally excited foreign correspondents.

20 世紀最感人的永恆呼喚：「帶箭野雁」
演講過程中，講員放了不少新聞剪報照片，其中一張她譽之為 20 世紀最感人
的圖片，那是一張加拿大野雁在天空中飛行的照片，攝於 1981 年5月22 日，題為
「帶箭野雁」。講員說，有一天，有人在天上拍到一隻野雁，身上插了一支比牠身
體還長的箭，牠卻還能帶箭飛行，有人為這隻野雁取名為唐納。為了要幫牠把箭取
下，他們試了很多方法都不成功，最後有人在公園中用麻醉麵包引誘唐納，終於把
牠迷昏，才為唐納動手術取下那隻箭。
這隻「帶箭野雁」在今天可能早已不在人間，但是講員說，這張照片在她的人
生中卻成為一個永恆的呼喚，經常提醒她：在人生中，你會負傷，但你仍要帶著比
你身體還長的箭飛下去，很多人看到那隻箭，心都碎了，所以有人會看不下去，會
跳出來救你，但你因為有那隻令你痛苦的箭，你不會輕易讓其他野雁或人靠近你，
免得他們觸到你，令你更痛，所以，真正要救你，必須先使你昏迷，把你打昏，正
如對付溺水的人一樣，你才能安靜接受手術解救，中箭之後，你仍必須先繼續飛下
去，有人看見，才會救你，如你中箭就倒在荒野，那箭就永無拿下之日。
