Pets are wonderful friends that bring joy into our
lives with their love. Sadly, however, many animals are
living lonely lives in shelters around the world, just waiting
for a person to love.
The animals in a shelter only have a limited time to
be adopted. Many shelters are filled with more animals than
they can take in, but they must still take new animals in
every day. Some animals must be euthanized to make room
for the new ones. A brewery in Florida recently teamed up
with Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) to try and
solve this problem.
The brewery took pictures of some cute dogs at
the shelter and printed them on their beer cans, along with
some information about each dog. The proceeds from all
the beer sales will be donated to MCAS, so they can build
a new shelter. So far, two dogs printed on the beer cans
have already been adopted!

As soon as December hits, out come the Christmas
sweaters. People take great joy in wearing these colorful,
and even quirky clothes. They’re warm and comfortable and
usually have pictures of reindeer, snowmen, Santa Claus and
Christmas trees on them. People love to wear them and
many join this yearly tradition.
This year, a dairy farmer in New Jersey (USA)
named Becky Houze decided that her cows should get in on
the tradition, too. "We love Christmas at the farm. If I had it
my way, we would play Christmas carols from October.” So
she got together with a local travel tourism company and
had five custom-made sweaters made for five lucky cows.
Things on Becky’s farm were just a bit more festive this
year.
