Before smartphones came along, my life had been very different. I’d had more time to
do the things I had interest in. Besides having to go to work, I’d spent my free time hanging
out with friends. We would watch movies at the theater, enjoy meals at restaurants, and go
to clubs to dance. Often, our weekends would be filled with trips to the beach and other
towns and cities. When I wasn’t with my friends, I’d passed the time working on my hobbies,
reading books, going to the gym, and watching TV. I sure had had a full life.
Sadly, the smartphone has taken over my life. I hate to admit it, but I’m never without
my smartphone, and I would totally be lost without it. I use it for almost everything, such as
contacting my friends. However, instead of meeting them in person, now I just message them
or catch up with them on social media. Also, I watch movies and read things online, and playing
video games has become my new and only hobby.
