In students’ daily talks, idols are usually a hot topic, like BTS, TFboys or
Blackpink. They enjoy talking about what the idols wear, how they act, where they
go or what they eat. Then, is it an idol’s job to be a good role model? Here’s a
debate between two students.
Student A: Of course. It’s an idol’s job to be a good role model because
people usually look up to stars. Most of their fans are teenagers or even younger.
They can’t tell right from wrong. Therefore, if an idol’s lifestyle is inappropriate
for kids, like drinking or smoking, his or her fans will copy them.
Student B: I don’t think an idol has to be a good role model. The main
reason why young people follow their idol is because they like the way he/she is.
What an idol needs to do is to work hard for what they are good at, not to set a
good example for their fans.
What do we learn from this reading?
○A “They” in line 7 refers(指) to “teenage fans or kids”.
○B The meaning of “inappropriate” in line 7 is close to “good”.
○C The two students are talking about their idols.
○D Both the students agree that an idol should be a good role model.
Which one is NOT the point (觀點) of Student A?
○A Fans will copy their idols.
○B People usually look up to stars.
○C Idols always work hard.
○D Most of the fans are under 20. (P3)尚有試題,請繼續作答。
