France was the top destination for international tourists last year, in no small part because
of Paris’s allure. The fatal terrorist attacks in the city on Nov. 13 upended lives and a place
that tourists hold dear. On the afternoon of Nov. 16, most museums and cultural sites in the
city, including the Eiffel Tower, reopened after a minute of silence, but the next day, the
Eiffel Tower closed amid security concerns.
