Like Owner, Like Dog
Dogs are man’s best friend. They play fetch, go for walks, and keep with their owners all
the time. Some dogs are so close to their owners that they become like them. Scientists found that
overweight dogs often belonged to overweight owners. They said it was “Like owner, like dog.’
The scientists looked at the owners’ feeding habits. The overweight ones gave more treats
more often. They would even share their cookies and sandwiches with their dogs, too. However,
being overweight is not healthy for not only dogs but also their owners. Overweight dogs can
develop cancer, diabetes, and heart problems. What’s more, being fat will shorten their lives.
If you have an overweight dog, cut down its food and make sure it gets enough exercise.
Most important of all, don’t share what you eat from the kitchen table with it!!
