Eva's class had a debate this morning. Here is what some of the students said in the debate.
Agree
Not Agree
Eva:
It's a win-win for teachers and
students. Teachers are able to help
their students with their problems or
schoolwork. At the same time, it helps
build a bridge between teachers and
students online.
Addison:
Both teachers and students need to
have their own space out of the
classroom. Usually students will not
say what they really think or show
what they are doing when they know
their teachers may see their posts.
Carter:
Teachers can understand their students
better from their posts, for example,
their thoughts and ideas, their friends
or their family life.
Lillian:
Now students spend too much time
online. Teachers also need to have
some more time with their family
after work. It is not wise of them
both to waste more time online.
Caleb:
Students will be able to see another
side of their teachers. For example,
their teachers who are serious in class
might be humorous or interesting after
work.
Connor:
It may not be easy for teenagers to
tell "a teacher" from "a friend" on
Facebook. Sometimes students
might say something not quite
appropriate to their teachers.

Coronavirus: A Threatening Crown
Just because the outbreak of coronavirus has given you a longer winter vacation, it doesn't mean that its a
good thing. You couldn't be more serious about learning this word before going back to school.
The word corona”, which comes from Latin, means crown. Under a microscope, the coronavirus comes
with a shape of a crown on its surface. This newly-discovered virus is highly contagious and the disease it
causes is called COVID-19(Coronavirus Disease 2019). In some parts of the world, it has infected millions of
people, and more than eighty thousand have died from it. Most symptoms of COVID-19 are just like flu, such
as dry cough and fever. However, unlike flu, it is harder to get better just with rest and drinking more water.
Older people or those who already have health problems have even fewer chances to get well from
coronavirus.
No matter how old you are, what color of your skin is, or how much money you make, people are equal
when facing coronavirus. The chances of being infected are almost even. It doesn't mean you don't need to be
careful just because you are young and strong.
Here is a guideline for you to protect yourself, family and friends from getting infected by the virus:
1. Wash your hands well and more often for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, or hand sanitizer with
around 75% alcohol after using the bathroom and touching anything from outside.
2. Wear masks to cover your mouth and nose. They stop the virus from getting in to your lung through
breathing. Coronavirus may spread through droplets from the sick people.
3. Dont touch your face before cleaning hands. The nose, mouth and eyes are where the virus attacks your
body.
4. Never get near to the people who are sick, which also means, you must stay home when you are sick, so
you won’t keep infecting others.
5. Clean all the things that people touch a lot.

Most people write with their right hand and might also draw pictures, throw a ball, or hold a spoon with the
same hand. However, some people are left-handed. Do you know our body is lopsided in other ways, too? Studies
show that around 40% of us are left-eared, 30% are left-eyed, and 20% are left-footed. But only 10% are
left-handed.
Here are some easy tests to find out how we naturally use our eyes, ears, and feet.
Test 1:
Write your name on a piece of paper. Which hand do you use?
Test 2:
Choose a tree far in front of you. First, make a triangle with both hands and place the tree in
the center of the triangle. Then close each eye in turn. The eye that shows the same view as
the one you see with both eyes is your stronger eye.
Test 3:
Place a coin on the floor in front of you. Then stand on the coin. Which foot do you use to
stand on it?
Test 4:
Ask someone to call you. Which ear do you use to "listen'?
Test 5:
Cut a piece of paper with a pair of scissors. Which hand do you hold the scissors when
cutting the paper?
Test 6:
Stand at the bottom of stairs and begin to walk up the stairs. Notice which foot lands on the
stairs first.
Test 7:
Stand close to someone and cover each ear in turn with a paper cup. Which ear hears more
clearly when that person is talking?
Test 8:
Ask someone to stand on the other side of a wall and then ask that person to talk to you.
Which ear do you put to the wall first?
