Международный экологическая организация Гринпис отмечает свой
сорокалетний юбилей. 40 лет назад небольшое судно вышло из канадского порта
Ванкувер с целью помешать проведению испытаний американского ядерного
оружия. Эта попытка маленькой группы активистов не увенчалась успехом, но
возвестила о рождении новой экологической организации. За 40 лет она
зарекомендовала себя как одну из самых влиятельных и радикальных объединений
защитников окружающей среды. Гринпис насчитывает в настоящее время почти
3 миллиона членов. Филиалы организации действует в 41 стране, в том числе и
на Тайване.
