Syria has been turbulent. In February, 2011, United Nations Secretary-General
intervened, calling for a ceasefire agreement which required Syrian government
and anti-government troops to cease fire on April 11th. However, the two parties still
had fights after April 11th.

To promote Taiwan’s image, not only the government but every Taiwanese has
something to do.
In the first place, the government should identify the strengths of Taiwan, and try to
make them known in the international media. The good quality of made-in-Taiwan
products, convenient and friendly travel environment and a variety of Chinese
cultural resources are all worth promoting. Just as in Taiwan, we often see tourist
promotion of foreign countries like Thailand and Mainland China, so should we do
the same thing in other countries to attract more tourists as well as raise Taiwan’s
popularity.
Besides the government, people in Taiwan should also help promote the image of

their homeland. When traveling abroad, we should show good manners wherever
we go; we can introduce Taiwan and its features and merits when we talk to foreign
people. On the other hand, there are more and more foreign students coming to
study in Taiwan, and they are the best ways to help promote Taiwan. If they have
great living and studying experiences here, they will share them with their friends
back in their own countries, which then leads to the establishment of Taiwan’s
image.
All in all, every Taiwanese is responsible for Taiwan’s image. The government
should make people aware of this, and encourage people to do everything they can
to uphold a good image for Taiwan.
