People around the world have different ways to show their respect for their dead family members.
In Mexico, people celebrate the Day of the Dead from October 31 to November 2. During this time,
families clean the graves and put candles, flowers, drinks, and food on the graves. Then they remember
the dead by sharing stories of their lives. For the children in Mexico, the Day of the Dead is a happy
holiday. They celebrate it by dancing and eating candy in the shape of a skull. It is a way for children to
learn the circle of life and not to be scared of death.
In Indonesia, the Torajan people bring the dead back home every one to three years. Families get
together to clean the body, brush the hair, and put fresh clothes on the body. After that, they take the dead
out for a "walk." To the Torajan people, death is not an end. They continue to take care of their loved ones
for many years even after they die.
People around the world hold different celebrations for the dead. They all try to do the same thing: To
remember the dead and show their love to the loved ones.

The attack is happening by air, land, and sea from many different
directions. In Kyiv, people could hear gunfire and bombs exploding.
Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, told other countries not to get
involved in what he calls a “special operation.” In fact, Putin said
that he doesnt think that Russia’s acts are part of a war. Putin believes
that he is helping Ukrainian people. He warned other countries that
they will be punished if they help Ukraine.
Ukraine’s president, Voldymyr Zelensky, asked all Ukrainians to help protect the country. Not only
will Ukrainian soldiers fight, but also normal Ukrainians such as teachers and office workers. President
Zelensky asked other countries to help, saying that if you dont help us now, tomorrow the war will
knock on your door.”
The United States and other Western countries quickly responded. President Joe Biden of America
said that the war is Putins fault. Furthermore, he said that he will sanction Russian businesses. For
example, the USA will no longer buy some products from Russia such as oil nor sell other American
products such as computer chips. Some Russian banks have also been stopped from working in the rest
of the world.
The rest of the world has responded angrily to what is happening in Ukraine. On March 2, the
United Nations (UN) held a vote about the Russian war in Ukraine. Out of the 193 UN countries, 141
voted against Russia. What’s more, people around the world are protesting. From Australia to Taiwan,
people took to the streets to show how unhappy they are. But the question is: will Putin listen?

Cockroaches
The famous song "La Cucaracha (the cockroach)" is liked by people around the world. It's a story
about a cockroach that lost its legs. Listening to the song makes people happy, but that is not the first
thing that comes to mind when speaking of cockroaches. The first thing most people think about is
disease. They think of the germs that cockroaches carry. You might get sick if you eat food that has
been touched by cockroaches. You wish you could kill them all when you see one in your house.
However, there are some interesting facts about cockroaches. You may think of them in a different
way after reading these. A cockroach can live for up to a week without its head. It dies because it can't
drink water. Also, cockroaches can run up to three miles an hour. What's more surprising, a
one-day-old baby cockroach can run almost as fast as its parents. Still want to get them out of your
place? Actually, we're living in their places. The cockroach family has been living on the Earth for
more than 280 million years. They're one of the oldest insects on the Earth. They have longer history
than humans. Maybe we are the ones that should move!
