課程概要
“Markets and economic action can only be understood if they are conceived as social structures and social action, respectively – that is, embedded in social relations not originally created for economic purposes, and connected to a regime of collective values and interests of which economic efficiency is just one among others.” (Beckert, Jens and Streeck, Wolfgang, “Economic Sociology and Political Economy, p.12).
“Capitalist society is deeply interwoven with how people organize even most
personal and intimate social life, in line with changing cultural conceptions, themselves affected by the expansion of markets, as to what is and is not "natural", "normal", and to be taken for granted, including family life and the way society provides for its physical reproduction.” (Streeck, “How to Study Contemporary Capitalism?”, p.18)
本課程介紹經濟社會學對於攸關當代經濟生活重要主題的觀點與研究,經濟活動對生活福祉與社會不平等有重要的影響,這些後果本身也會回饋到經濟運作與社會的可持續性。不同國家平衡經濟發展、社會平等與生活福祉的觀念不同,源於歷史發展的影響以及不同價值之間的折衝與衡量,因此產生不同的社會經濟體系。
二、課程目標
本課程分析社會經濟制度的差異以及對於社會平等與生活福祉的影響,設計兼顧國際案例與新型態經濟活動,希望修課同學得以培養跨國比較以及前瞻性的視野。這門課程的目標是培養跨領域思考能力,以及應用這樣的能力於當前迫切需要面對與解決的議題。
三、課程要求
上課方式除了講課之外,同學的參與亦構成重要部分。此門課並不預設修課同學修習過經濟社會學(一),因此,只要你對於經濟實際運作的社會脈絡,以及經濟活動對人們生活福祉的影響感興趣,不論你有沒有修過社會學或經濟社會學(ㄧ),都歡迎你來與社會學系學生一起學習。本學期課程不使用教科書,搭配各週進度會有指定閱讀,完成學習單與作業均需要閱讀指定文章,閱讀教材大多為論文電子檔,可以在 ntu cool各週次課程內容下載,有些為書籍章節(指定閱讀後面註明紙本者),以影印集結成冊的方式,請務必購買。(將於第二周課堂由影印店帶來,供同學下課後購買)
2、課程要求:
評分的項目為出席+課堂心得(30%)、期末考(40%)、兩份報告(30%)。
A出席+課堂心得(30%):
每次課堂出席+課後學習單=滿分3分,出席的同學才能繳交課堂學習單,若你沒有出席但繳交學習單,也不算分。本學期總共十二次上課,扣除第一週不算分,一共有十一週,期末將選成績最好的十次計算。
以上課五分鐘內親自簽到以及下課後簽退為出席紀錄,若簽到但中途離開並未簽退,顯示未全程出席,該次簽到無效不計入出席。若有緊急狀況需先離開,告知老師事由獲准後,該次簽到仍屬有效。禁止代同學簽到退,由於這是出席聽課的得分,違者視同作弊以校規處理。
B 期末考:簡答和申論題。
C 閱讀論文報告兩篇,每篇占15%(滿分15分),可以選擇其中之一以口頭報告替代書面報告,為了鼓勵選擇以口頭報告跟同學分享,口頭報告的滿分為17分(書面報告滿分15分)。(口頭報告需準備簡報檔)
