四日兒童節的「讀好書：全球學童歡慶佳節」活動；上述十六個國家包括臺灣、英
國、日本、韓國、紐西蘭、南非和美國。

US President Barack Obama’s declaration of support for gay marriage may have
promoted some US citizens, especially blacks and Hispanics, to reconsider their
opposition to letting homosexuals wed, an analysis of Reuters/Ipsos online poll data
showed on Friday.
On May 9, Obama became the first US presid ent to sa y he believed same-sex couples
should be allowed to get married.
The president’s position was hailed by Democrats, gay rights groups and others as a
benchmark for civil rights in the US and criticized by Republican activists and
conservative Christian leaders as a divisive campaign issue before the Nov. 6 election.
